Lifeguards on Duty The San Carlos Community Pool has lifeguards on duty during operational hours to ensure the safety of all patrons.
Pool Availability During scheduled aquatic class times, the pool will have limited availability to the public. Pool patrons may be asked to use a different section of the pool until the class concludes.
Supervision and Safety Children should always be supervised by a responsible adult. Please note that pool noodles and inflatables are not allowed. Personal flotation devices must be Coast Guard approved.
Weather Closures The pool may close due to our lightning policy or if the temperature, including wind chill, is under 60 degrees. Refunds will not be issued for closures due to weather.
Heated Pool The pool is heated during the winter months, maintaining a water temperature between 84-86 degrees for comfort.
ADA Accommodations A lift is available for ADA accommodations, ensuring accessibility for all visitors.
Swimming Lessons We offer a variety of swimming lessons for all ages. Please give us a call or stop by for more information.
Capacity The Florida Department of Health has established the pool capacity allowance to be 96 people inside the facility at any given time. If the pool reaches capacity, the gate will be closed and staff will only allow visitors to enter as others leave. Please call the pool if you have questions regarding the current capacity level or planning your pool outing.

Six-month and one-year pool passes are also available for families or individuals. Senior discount pool passes are available at the pool.
Pool Details This is a 173,218-gallon, eight-lane heated pool, open year-round. Lap lanes are provided for lap swimmers, and aerobic classes are offered four days a week. Swim lessons are scheduled throughout the year. The pool is open to the general public with ADA accommodations.
History:
The San Carlos Community Pool opened in August 1989 and has since become a central hub for the community. It serves as the home of the Gulf Coast Swim Team, catering to both youth and adults. In 1991, deck lights were installed to enable night swimming. A shade structure was added in 1998, enhancing comfort for visitors. A small pool slide was introduced in 2002, available when there are no aerobic classes. The pool underwent resurfacing in 2005, and three large Funbrellas were added that summer, nearly tripling the shaded area. Additionally, a double flume water slide was installed for extra enjoyment.
The lifeguard staff is certified through the StarFish Aquatic Institute’s StarGuard Program, while the Learn to Swim instructors are certified by the American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Program.
